Press release - E Phuv

Martin Olah is the youngest member of the club of Romani writers Paramisara, which has been created under the wing of the Gavoro project in 2019. From his early childhood, Martin devoted himself to art in various forms – playing the piano, singing and writing. The origin of his passion for writing poetry can be traced to his family environment or directly to genes inherited from his father, the poet Vlado Oláh. What attracts him to poetry is "the liberating feeling of the soul wandering between words and seeking their meaning." The experience described by him best illustrates that the passion for his own work is real.

A poetry collection named E Phuv (Earth) is the first book to come out of the club of Romani writers Paramisara. The unique collection of transformational poetry brings together spirituality, natural elements and Romani culture. It shows how important it is for the Romani soul to draw inspiration from nature and opens up new horizons of cultural and spiritual knowledge.

The E Phuv book release took place at the Werich Villa in Prague on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 7 p.m. in the unique form of a performance where you could experience the combination of dance, music and traditional cuisine.

The event began with a ballet performance by dancers resembling four natural elements. Accompanied by the Romani anthem performed by talented singer Pavlína Matiová, Mother Earth came around and symbolically handed over the poetry collection to a young Romani girl.

Vegetarian and vegan catering ensured that everyone could taste presented dishes and get to know traditional Romani cuisine..

The book's release tried to reflect on the essence of E PHUV and ensured a unique experience by the young Romani author, who came up with the concept by himself. The book release event included the sale of the poetry collection for the symbolic price of 290,- CZK.

In the second part of the event, discussion was held about the connection of nature and people. Participants in the discussion had a chance to try a short guided meditation

The event took place with financial support from the EEA Funds 2014-2021, Cultural programme; City of Prague and the Czech-German Future Fund.
