This year's edition of the World Roma Festival Khamoro culminated in the opening of large-format paintings by the prominent Romani artist Zoran Tairović, which took place at 18:00 in the Gallery of the New Town Hall.


The exhibition under the title TAROT/VELIKA ARKANA contains a collection of 20 original works including a multimedia and multidisciplinary performance and presents more than thirty years of the artist's work.


VELIKA ARKANA also includes the painting "Twilight or Dawn of Europe", which artistically depicts the death of the Teplice Romani Stanislav Tomáš, who died after a controversial police intervention.

Zoran Tairović is an academic painter and doctor in the field of interdisciplinary management studies in the arts industry. This Romani man from Serbia is a typical example of an all-round talented artist. Not only has he won several prestigious world awards for his multimedia works of art, but he is also the author of the first Romani opera, musical and several film documentaries.


The Man Who Listens to the Cosmos


With his performances in the field of performance art, he has participated in many festivals and cultural events, both at home and abroad. He is the founder and director of the international festival of documentary films with a Romani theme, FROM, which is held every year in the Serbian town of Mali Iđoš. He has also worked as an advisor to the Deputy Minister for Social Inclusion of the Roma Population.


Visitors can see the exhibition until 9 December this year.
