Concert of traditional Romani music by Miroslav Rác & hosts

Jerusalem Synagogue, Prague

In his work, the pianist and composer Miroslav Rác devotes himself to the triobute of the Roma Holocaust. He himself comes from a musician family who have had a personal experience of the horrors of World War II, when Miroslav's grandfather went through several camps of death. It was his family history that was reflected in Miroslav's desire to devote his music to the victims of Nazi terror, for whom he also composed his best-known work, Poém A-moll.

This talented musician has been performing at the Polish National Philharmonic since the age of 15, at the European Congress dedicated to Roma youth a few years ago, and in recent years has introduced himself to audiences in Paris, London or Tel Aviv. He has collaborated with world-class musicians – including Itzhak Perlamen – as well as have been lecturing and producing inspirational concerts for young Roma in Slovakia.

He will perform his author's work for solo piano in the Jerusalemská synagogue in Prague, singer Pavlína Matiova will be a guest to selected traditional Roma songs performances.
